We have been met with an absurd amount of antagonism by some members of staff and council simply for showing up at council meetings and asking questions.

We even learned that a core group of us were being referred to by certain members of staff and council as “the disrespectful six”.

None of us has ever interrupted a meeting or engaged in disruptive behavior of any kind.

Coralvillain is mostly just wordplay, a flipping of two vowels in a word that would otherwise be Coralvillian (resident of the city of Coralville) but it is also to acknowledge a history of being mischaracterized as troublemakers merely for participating in democracy.
