We are grateful to share Coralville resident comments from the Coralville City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

Context: council voted last night on a 3% pay increase for the Coralville City Administrator who is the highest paid city employee.
This is the same fiscal year that Coralville froze cost of living increases for some of the city’s lowest paid employees across multiple departments.
Councilors Freeman and Knudson have replied with their support in exploring this proposal.
The remainder of the electeds and staff that were contacted about this request are ignoring us.
Coralville water rates also just went up 37% as of July 1, 2026. Explanation from the city: “This is the first of several anticipated annual water increases to help support increased operating costs, upcoming capital improvement projects, and debt repayment.”
